Thanks to Kottke.org, back in December we saw this excellent example (video below) of Sports Illustrated in tablet form. Given us a glimpse of how tablets and the tablet medium will revolutionize how we digest sports media. Allowing for a creative array of options for publishers, media companies, and advertisers.

After seeing Apple’s iPad and what it’s capable of, the concept above is just around the corner. Inspiring us to create the following creed:

TheTickr.com’s Apple iPad Sports Manifesto

A sports fan with an Apple iPad potentially means…

  • No more missing the big game because you got sucked into your in-laws, third cousin’s second wedding.
  • No more missing the play of the game because the Mexican you ate for lunch hits you with 1 minute to play in regulation.
  • No more stacks upon stacks of sports mags gathering dust in various nooks and crannies around your place.
  • Resulting in… No more arguments with your significant other because you have stacks upon stacks of sports mags gathering dust in various nooks and crannies around your place.
  • An interactive version of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue… I think we’ll stop there.

And just for giggles, this is what TheTickr.com will look like on Apple’s iPad.
