6 Amazing NBA D-League Team Names
The NBA’s Developmental League is pro basketball’s farm system. But away from its big brother’s spotlight, its franchises are able to have legitimately awesome names.
Really diggin’ the tight designs behind these NHL minimalist posters. Well done, S. Preston.
Do you know of anyone who still collects stamps? Well, the U.S. Postal Service in conjuction with Major League Baseball is bringing stamp collecting back to the masses with an MLB All-Star collection. The stamps will feature baseball greats: Ted Williams, Larry Doby, Willie Stargell and Joltin’ Joe DiMaggio. Let the collecting begin.
Follow up to yesterday’s post on The Classical. A member of their team, Jacob Weinstein, created this Halloween meets Coca-Cola stylized illustration. As Canadians, we dig on the super obvious “beaver playing hockey” characterture.

With the world prepping to invade London for the Olympic games in 365 days, big and shiny new Olympic medals were unveiled on Wednesday.
The biggest Summer Olympics medals to date. Artist David Watkins says the key symbols on front and back juxtapose the goddess Nike, for the spirit and tradition of the Games, and the River Thames, for the city of London. On the back of the medals is the 2012 branding, representing the modern city as a jewel-like, geological growth.
Well played, David Watkins.

The Winnipeg Jets just dropped their new logo. At first glance, we dig.
The design for the new logo, which was developed in partnership with Reebok and the NHL, was inspired by the logo of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
We support this mock redesign.
A fascinating well informed and researched look at redesigning NBA logos by Michael Weinstein. This is his possible secondary alternate logo for the Kings.

TechCrunch launched a redesign of their site yesterday. Looks like they could’ve been inspired by our 8-Bit swag.
I guess Tim Lincecum thought that Opening Day was as good a day as any to launch his brand new logo. Lincecum will be joining the likes of Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Roger Federer in launching his own personal brand.
The SF Giants are showing off Tim Lincecum’s new logo. Using the Giants’ orange and black, the logo depicts Lincecum in full wind-up, and highlights his long hair. The logo will be used for Tim Lincecum’s “personal projects”, which may or may not include making pipes out of apples.
