The Homeless man with the “golden radio voice” has officially blowuptuated! Ted Williams has been offered a full-time job and a house from the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to the New York Post. Ted is being dubbed the “Susan Boyle” of America.

Tiger Woods joins twitter. Then confirms it’s actually him tweeting.
The NBC Olympics Twitter Tracker creates a visual representation of tweets from fans and athletes. Twitter had this to say about it on their blog:
For the Olympics, NBC worked with Stamen Design to produce a Twitter Tracker capturing Olympic highs and lows—the joy, the disappointment, and the humor. Check out the shift in attention on Wednesday night from Shani Davis’ speed skating gold run to the halfpipe antics of Shaun White (during his “Double McTwist 1260,” Stamen tracked over 1,000 tweets per minute about Shaun)

Who would’ve thought, that in 2010 we’d be receiving social media predictions from Fab Fiver Jalen Rose.
The list (below), which Jalen posted over on Mashable, is a tad bit obvious. Although, numero deux did peak our interest.
2. Social media numbers may become a part of contract negotiations.
It’s possible this won’t happen in the next year, but the numbers will definitely play a major role in the future. Some athletes have over a million plus followers on Twitter and tens or hundreds of thousands on Facebook. These numbers can be used by agents, lawyers, and business managers to leverage higher contract dollars for their clients. The fans are buying into a brand and if an athlete delivers consistently, then he or she should be rewarded for it.
